Most translators search for the same Game Localization companies. Here's how changing your search strategy helped me discover hundreds of new opportunities beyond Google's first page.
Learn moreYep! We operate on a voluntary donation model. If you find the community helpful and would like to support the project, you are welcome to contribute financially.
Donations help cover practical costs such as maintaining the website, accessing certain job boards used for research, and supporting the ongoing development of the community.
The project is managed with a lot of time and effort, and community support helps keep it sustainable.
BrainStorm Translate is primarily focused on written translation and localization. Most discussions in our community revolve around topics relevant to translators, subtitlers, and localization specialists.
The job opportunities shared on the server are also mainly related to remote written translation and localization projects, and our curated company lists are built with these professions in mind.
If you are an interpreter but are also interested in written translation or localization, you are absolutely welcome to join. However, at the moment we do not maintain dedicated channels or job searches specifically for interpreting.
The vast majority of our work is focused on human translation. Most of the jobs, discussions, and curated company lists on BrainStorm Translate are centered around opportunities for human translators.
At the same time, some members of our community are open to selected AI-related workflows - mainly machine translation post-editing and AI dubbing projects.
Because of that, we may occasionally share opportunities in these two areas when the conditions appear reasonable. However, this remains a much smaller part of what we do.
We do not search for, promote, or support projects related to AI evaluation, AI assessment, AI model training, or similar large-scale data and learning tasks.
In our curated lists, we also try to indicate whether a company is actively involved in AI-related workflows, so community members can make more informed decisions.
At the moment, the most active parts of the BrainStorm Translate community are game localization and audiovisual translation (AVT). These two areas currently form the core of many discussions on the server, and we regularly compile curated company lists specifically for these specializations so translators can reach out to potential clients.
At the same time, BrainStorm Translate is open to translators from many other fields. We would especially love to see more specialists in areas such as SEO translation, marketing localization, and other professional niches. As the community grows, we expect more specializations to become active parts of the network as well.
